Neon Hedgehugs!

Hello everyone! I wanted to share a fun little card that I created to play along with the Lawnscaping Challenge number 89!
http://lawnscaping.blogspot.com/2014/09/lawnscaping-challenge-one-layer.html
I'm so glad I've decided to start playing along! These challenges force me to look at my crafting supplies in different ways. I created a few other cards using other stamps that are single layer as well. (maybe you'll see some of them here soon) Anyway, here's the super simple, super fun, single layer card:
I first stamped the hedgehogs, from the Lawn Fawn HedgeHugs stamp set, touching noses in StazOn black ink. I also used the Beep Boop Birthday stamp set for the little bow on the hedgehog. I then stamped them again on some Post-It note cards (so the sticky area is on the back) and fussy cut them so use as a mask. (the extra black ink is from another single layer card I made.)
I then got out my Americana Neon Acrylic paints...and...painted!
I wish the photos did true justice to these fantastic colors!
I then used my water color pencils to color in the hedgehogs.
I added the tiny heart stamp above them, along with the cute sentiment that comes with the set.I finished off the card by adding some Glossy Accents to the noses, eye, and heart.
The perfect 'pick-me-up' card that is easy to send through the mail!

Send 'Em On! Send 'Em Out!

Have you ever created something that just makes you downright happy?!? Something that you have a difficult time handing over to the person you intended it for? I have. This is one of my favorite (and least favorite) parts of having a creative side. I love knowing that something that came from my desk could make someone else smile, uplift spirits, encourage someone to keep going on their journey, to let a friend know that you're thinking of them, or just to say 'hello'. How exciting is it to get something in the mail that...well, isn't a bill or junk mail?
So, here is a little bit of encouragement to create, play, enjoy and send. Make yourself an address book, keep it with you along with stamps. Address and stamp those envelopes as soon as you finish the card. Get those works of art in the mail...make someone's day!
Here are a few cards that I was excited to send out. The pictures aren't the greatest, but seeing them still makes me smile!
A birthday card I made for my Aunt Bev.
A funny little card for my nephew!

A thank you card for a wedding gift Sam and I received.
