Tis the Season |
I inked up the stamp using Memento Tuxedo Black ink, then removed the bit of tape and stamped the image on a piece of white card stock.
Next, I did a little selective inking of the Santa stamp and turned him at an angle on the sweater.
I used my Spectrum Noir markers to do a bit of coloring and then cut out the image.
I then masked the tree on the image again, in the same way as before, to stamp the sweater two more times onto my white panel for the front of my card. I used a bit of removable adhesive on the Santa sweater to get him placed properly so I could get the other sweaters stamped evenly.
To get the words on the other two sweaters I did some more selective inking of the other sentiments in the same stamp set.
I then colored the other sweaters.
Added some dimensionals to the green sweater, used Wink of Stella (clear) on Santa's hat and stamped the main greeting on the card.
I then rounded the bottom corners and added the panel to a simple red card. I love the finished result! I just makes me grin!

Looks like you had a lot of fun with that set. I want to get it, too, but it will have to wait a little. You did a great job with it.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Amy! Playing with the set was a blast! Once you get your hands on them I'd love to see what you do with it (if you take photos or have a blog) 😊
DeleteWhat an absolutely inspiring post!!! Your projects were all so wonderful and had me smiling from one picture to the next! You are definitely the Queen of the Masking and Selective Inking because I adore the "ugly sweater" you created with Santa's head! That was genius and I always love to see some clever uses of stamps (other than what they were made for). This has made me think of some of my stamps in a whole new way, so thank you for inspiring me! It's hard to pick a favorite because each tag and card were so totally unique. Excellent work here and I'm so glad you shared your creativity and insight with us for this week's Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge! Now I'm on my way to see if I can purchase this set myself.... :)
ReplyDeleteWow! Thank you, Andrea! I'm so glad you were inspired by them! I had so much fun with this set! I'd love to see what you do with the set once you get it if you'd like to share. I always love seeing what others do with the same sets I have. It was my pleasure to play along at Simon says stamp Monday challenge and to share these fun creations!
ReplyDeletehi Nancy! is this ever adorable, fabulous job with the masking and thanks for sharing! I am so glad you played along with Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge!
